The short answer to, “What will it cost?”
is, “It depends.” We recognize that this is not a very satisfying
answer however, so let’s put it in context.
Fees are dependent on your instructional and organizational
needs. Do we start with a needs analysis or have you already completed
that step and now just need the courses designed? Will you be needing
validated certification (many technical topics do) or is the fact that
people have gone through the training good enough?
Other considerations include the time frame we
have to work with, the delivery method chosen, and the amount of talent
(both internal and external) that will be needed to accomplish your
goal.
Once we have a good understanding of your developmental
needs, we’ll work with you to meet your budgetary requirements
and organizational goals. Quite honestly, no matter what the cost, the
value will far exceed your investment (and we’re happy to prove
that if you’d like to take your project all the way through an
ROI study).
We can charge: by the hour, by the project, or
on retainer. Why the difference? Because every organization operates
a little bit differently and budget is oftentimes a constraint.
By the hour:
Ideal for short projects – those which will
begin and end within a month or encompass less than 80 hours in total.
Triage - evaluating current training programs
and providing feedback – is a type of project which is charged
by the hour.
By the project:
A by-the-project fee allows you to request and
budget for a fixed amount with no surprises. Project fees can be divided
among the number of months the project is projected to encompass (e.g.
a three-month project can be paid for in three installments) or, should
you choose to pay the entire project fee at the start of the project,
a savings of 10% off the total fee is extended. Paying by the project
is best for projects which will last three to six months.
Retainer-basis is the ideal choice
for many organizations because:
- It allows you a monthly budgetable item, with
no surprises
- It frees us from having to track hours
- It allows everyone to stop worrying about how
much time “we've used” this month. You and your trainers
can feel free to call on us at anytime - from the biggest concern
to the smallest – no one will have to be concerned with, “Is
this a $50 question or a $500 question?”
- It puts you on the “short list”
of clients with priority access to The Training Doctor’s time
and attention
- Retainer contracts are offered at 20% off our
standard hourly rate
- Best for projects which will last seven months
or more.
