The Training Doctor, LLC, is an organizational development firm that helps its clients achieve sustained performance improvement through an accelerated experiential learning process (AELP). For over 25 years we have helped successful organizations to close the gap between where their business needs to go and the talent required to take them there.

About the Curriculum

A customized thinking curriculum is designed to enhance the thinking skills, business acumen, and leadership abilities of your employees. It is not an off-the-shelf program. No other business will have a curriculum that develops their employees the way your curriculum does.  It is designed to meet the needs of your industry, company, and long-term goals.

Feel free to book a free one-hour consultation so we can help you visual the potential of developing leaders from day one.

Meanwhile…  the book, Future-Proofing Your Organization was written to provide a more detailed look at the process of an Accelerated Experiential Learning Process (AELP). In it, you’ll find a number of graphics depicting how the AELP integrates business acumen, interpersonal skills, personal development, and next level thinking to ensure your workforce is prepared to lead in the 21st century.  You can download the introductory chapter here.

About Dr. Miner

Nanette Miner, Ed.D., Author, Founder

I have been a training / learning / OD consultant for over twenty-five years, so I have a long horizon to reflect on.  Over that period of time, I have witnessed three things that have struck me as contributing to the demise of thinking skills in corporate America.

  1. Training departments and budgets have been slashed to near-nothing. Training has become just-in-time rather than a true developmental process.
  2. eLearning has grown exponentially and, unfortunately, eLearning is primarily a self-directed activity. There is only so much one can teach themselves. True learning comes from collaborating with others.
  3. Companies are designing their training to accommodate a generation that doesn’t like to work too hard to learn (or doesn’t know how to – there is a chapter in Future-Proofing that explores why and how people have lost the ability to learn).

I think we have a perfect storm of circumstances in the field of workplace learning that will culminate in a disaster if we don’t work immediately to change how we approach employee development and how we help people learn once they’ve left formal education.
